Wowzers!

It's been awhile huh?
These 3 cuties have been keeping me CRAZY busy.

I will try to do a few posts from the Holidays,
but other than that there is NO way I will catch up
from my last post.... I can't even remember when that was!
hee..hee...
I do know we had Thanksgiving, Christmas and oh yeah
my BABY turned 1-- ack! how did that happen?

I also wanted to share with ya'll this lovely package that
was sitting on my doorstep when I got home from the snowy mess of a day!

But coming home to free products DEFINTELY brightened my day!
(I recieved these products for being a BZZAgent)

Well it just so happens that we have been trying
to find a diaper that will keep Liam dry thru
the night, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg to buy!
I am SO excited to try these diapers!
We've also had a really hard time finding a sippy cut that

1) DOESN'T leak (i know- novel idea right?)
and
2) Liam will drink from (he's a bottle boy!)

Anyways, I promise i'll come back here in a few weeks and tell ya all about these products.

We've been having so much fun this summer
I just haven't had much time to post.
So I am going to attempt to post about all our fun
without making this the world's longest post.

Hold on tight casue here we go........

The end of July and beginning of August we spent
taking Sophia to swimming lessons.
It was quite the traumatic experience for all of us!

After surviving 4 weeks of lessons we headed to the Oregon coast for some fun!

Last saturday we had a little family get together at my aunts house.
It was an afternoon filled with fun and laughter.

There was swimming.....

...or maybe it was just a few hillarious rounds of telephone charades,
which then led to ALOT of laughing...

Last week Stephen's brother and his boys were in town,

For the longest time Sophia has said
she wanted to grow her hair out to look like Rapunzels.

However when I told her I was going to get mine cut
she asked if she could go as well, and get hers cut to look like mine.

So we had a little mother daughter time at the salon on Saturday morning.

She was a little nervous as first.

but was SUPER thrilled with the end result!
In my opinion she looks WAY to grown up!
She was most excited that it was straight :)
...it's not anymore however, but is still super cute all curly. (note to self take picture with curly hair)

she had that smile on her face all weekend!!!

Last weekend Stephen dad and step-mom were in town
so we headed over to their pool for a quick dip!
Sophia loves the water...if only she would get her face wet!

She is signed up for swim lessons this summer so hopefully that will help her
feel more comfortable in the water.

Sophia graduated last Friday from preschool,
We will miss her teacher Miss Heather,
she was so awesome, and we hope she is still teaching
when Liam is ready for preschool. Sophia had so much fun in her class!

Weekend Wrap

I would say another busy weekend, but it seems that is the new norm around here.
The craziness began Friday night when I was up till after 1 doing this;

and this is what I ended up with:

It was for a friends baby shower.
Which is how I started my day on Saturday-
I had Quilt Group (which is also where we had the shower).
After that I had to rush home and then find a present for my
cousins Bridal shower.
Sunday we worked out in the yard.
Got some of our vegetables planted .....'

cucumbers

peas...well these were planted a few weeks ago, but look how fast they are growing!

strawberries..which these ones were planted last year, but we did plant 2 more

my Basil is sprouting!! (planted last weekend)

if you looking REALLY close you can see my Oregano sprouting

and Stephen did some major pruning!

It started raining so we couldn't do much more work outside.
I did get some Dill, and squash planted, but forgot to take any pictures of that.

Saturday we also got our first basket of produce from Bountiful Baskets,
I hope ya'll had a great weekend as well. I'm hoping for a quiet, lazy week! :)

He is getting too big too fast!

I took him to the doc this morning for his check up
and for the dreaded shots!!

He weighed in at 17#5oz (90%)
Length was 26 1/2 in (90%)

Weekend Wrap up-- Mother's day edition

I hope all you mothers out there were treated well!
I know I was!
I was treated to some yummy (made from scratch) quiche by my lovely hubs!

Sophia loved it too!

After breakfast we went to church with Stephen's mom and grandma.

It was very nice.

When we got home I got to do something I've been wanting to do for weeks now--

make Jam!! yumm!!

I was only able to make 2 batches because;
1- I didn't have anymore Pectin
and
2- I ran out of lids and clean jars
After cleaning up from that we got ready for dinner--

pot roast--mmmm
and to finish it all up we enjoyed some delish Strawberry Boston Creme pie/cake thing

It was a very nice and relaxing day..I only wish it hadn't been so rainy so I could plant some flowers.

Also, I guess I never took any pics of my Mother's day presents, So I will have to do that and post tomorrow.

Weekend Wrap up-- Saturday!

I'm just now finally getting around to posting about our weekend...

that's how busy it was!
It started out on Saturday with Stephen and Sophia

constructing a box so we could go get some chickies!!

Once it was completed we ran to the store to pick up some chicks!

When we got there I put my purse in the trunk,

and just as I shut the car trunk, Sophia started SCREAMING!!!

I turned and saw her fingers where in the trunk!

Stephen finally got the trunk open, and we were able to assess the damage.

Luckily it just cut open the skin on her middle finger..

but still OUCHIE!! I'm pretty sure everyone in the parking lot

and in the store thought we were kiddnapping her or beating her

by how loud she was screaming

So we told her we'd better just go home and get a bandaid and

come back for the chicks later...but she would have NO such thing

She wanted chicks SO bad...so in we went.

And got our chicks!

After bath time she got to hold one

Of course everyone but me got to hold one,

Oh well...

So I am going to end my post here for the evening so I can go do that before I get tired.

This has been around for while, but I like it!

and they are all SO true!!

Random Thoughts of the Day:

* I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

* More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that's not only better, but also more directly involves me.

* Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

* I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter?

* Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

* I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

* The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.

* Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.

* There is a great need for sarcasm font.

* Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the f*** was going on when I first saw it.

* I think everyone has a movie that they love so much; it actually becomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that everyone's laughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a little bit harder (and a millisecond earlier) to prove that I'm still the only one who really, really gets it.

* How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

* I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

* I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

* The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

* A recent study has shown that playing beer pong contributes to the spread of mono and the flu. Yeah, if you suck at it!

* Was learning cursive really necessary?

* Lol has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".

* I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

* Answering the same letter three times or more in a row on a Scantron test is absolutely petrifying.

* My brother's Municipal League baseball team is named the Stepdads. Seeing as none of the guys on the team are actual stepdads, I inquired about the name. He explained, "Cuz we beat you, and you hate us." Classy, bro.

* Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".

* How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said?

* I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!

* MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

* Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

* I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water.

* Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

* I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

* Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!

* Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from; this shouldn't be a problem....

* You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

* Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection.

* There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

* I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

* I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren't watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?'

* While watching the Olympics, I find myself cheering equally for China and USA . No, I am not of Chinese descent, but I am fairly certain that when Chinese athletes don't win, they are executed.

* I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

* I like all of the music in my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes.

* Why is a school zone 20 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles...

* Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

* It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.

* I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

* Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what do to with it.

* Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my a$$ everyone can find and push the Snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time every time...

* It really pi$$es me off when I want to read a story on CNN.com and the link takes me to a video instead of text.

* I wonder if cops ever get pi$$ed off at the fact that everyone they drive behind obeys the speed limit.

* I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay.

Sunday our good friends had their daughters birthday party at a local kids play place.
Sophia had fun....and made a new friend..even though she never got her name! ha!

She went down this slide at least 100 times...thats ALL she did!! :)

Liam just got to hang out for the tmost part.

Saturday we went out to visit Stephen's mom and step-dad
and to see the animals, we all had a great time.
One little girl got spoiled....

She's been begging for a "baby" pillow pet since she first saw them in the store..

So in highschool my best friend Bailey and I use to

and give to eachother. I use to have a BIG binder full of them,
until just recently when I got rid of them.
Now I wish I had kept them.

I was putting some new tea cups away the other day

when I realized I have never taken pictures of my collection!
I wanted to share them with you.

I started collecting Tea cups, when I worked for Camille Beckmans.
Here is the one I bought from there-

Actually come to think of it, I have only ever purchased 2,
the one from Camille Beckman's and one from Deseret Industries!
all the other ones have been gifted to me!

This one was either my Great Grandma Jensen or Great Aunt Maxines

This one is from my Grandma Jensens china set,
It is SO beautiful!

I'm not really sure why I started collecting them
They are just so pretty!
I don't even drink tea! ha!

But I think it would be totally fun to have a tea party sometime!

Weekend Wrap up

We had a pretty busy weekend.......or so it felt like.
Saturday Stephen went out to his friends house
and did some reloading (I'm sad I missed out).
But I stayed home and worked on a couple of quilt blocks
for the Quilt Group I joined..( still not sure what i was thinking! :))
Here they are....what do you think?

These ones are for Bailey....I can't wait to see the finished products!

We also did some spring cleaning,in the house and out.
I was able to use some of my SC Johnson products
that I recieved for being a BZZ Agent.
The shower cleaner is AWESOME,
and anything that makes Sophia want to join in on the cleaning
gets an A++++++ in my book!
So if anyone wants some coupons so you
can give it a try as well..just let me know!!

on a different subject.....
Liam has REFUSED to sleep during the day!!
he will NOT nap!!!
He's a stinker!
We will wrap him up as tight as we can and rock him to sleep.
but as soon as we lay him down BAM his eyes pop right open!
Or he'll wiggle until his arms are free and wake himself up,
So we'll let him lay there for awhile and go back in to check on him,
and he'll just give you the biggest smile that you can't help but pick him up!
But at least he sleeps well at night!

He also started laughing today...it was SO cute, I wish we got it on camera.
He also had his first taste of rice cereal, hoping maybe it would help us him sleep...
I don't know if it has helped yet, but he sure loved it!

To end the weekend, we found out my great Aunt Maxine passed away,
she lived a long wonderful life, and will be missed. Sophia use to draw her pictures all the time for her walls,
and Aunt Maxine, would almost always talk to Sophia whenever she would visit, even if she didn't talk or remember anyone else. She never had any children of her own,
but she loved Sophia like she was her grand-daughter

I went through most of my photos, and that was the only one I could find of her.

I will always remember going to visit Aunt Maxine at her house

and playing with her toys she kept in her closet

and her always giving us ice-cream and p-e-p-s-i

(she would spell it out when she asked mom if we could have some,thinking we didn't know what it was)

Her funeral is Thursday in Burley.

I hope ya'll had a fabulous weekend, and I apologize for the long post!!

A WHOLE hand old!!!

My sweet Sophia turned 5, yes FIVE today!!
It just seems like yesterday she was born.

It was a bit tough trying to explain to her
that she wouldn't be starting Kindergarten until next year,
but I think we got that all figured out.
*side note- we found on Saturday she did not get drawn in the lottery for the school we wanted :(
She was also very concerned all day,
that she didn't look or feel any different.
So we tried our hardest to convince she did.

We started celebrating her Birthday Friday night,
because hello we LOVE to party!
My sister, Sophia and I went and saw Cinderella at the Morrison Center.

Sophia of course LOVED it and didn't want to miss any second of it!
She said when she gets older she is going to go to plays all the time.

Then on Saturday we had her Birthday party
with all her friends and cousins at The Little Gym.

Everyone had SO much fun!
They did such a great job of keeping the kids entertained!

I ordered a Barbie in a Mermaid tale picture online for the cake
And had a co-worker make the cake,
Just so I would have one less thing to worry about.

I think she did an awesome job, what do you think?

AND then finally today (her actual bday)
we had dinner and gifts with Grandma & Grandpa Grames and Aunt Cindy.

Let's just say Sophia is one spoiled little girl,
and I wouldn't want it ANY other way!!

Sophia is such a joy to have in our lives,

she is such a character and a very loving big sister.

I can already see her and Liam being best friends when they get older.

We also took quite a few pictures after dinner tonight,
so as to not bore you any longer I will post some more through out the week!

Drybees and Wahmie review (and giveaway)

I was SO lucky to have recieved 2 Drybees All in one diapers
and an adorable Wahmie wet bag to try out on Liam and share my opinion!

Here is some product information from the DryBees Website;

We have been using them and found that they are plenty absorbant with out needing to add an extra insert.
Liam loves wearing them, as they seem to be more comfortable,
and don't "dig" into his stomach and legs as a disposable diaper would.
I LOVE that there is no insert to take out and wash and then have to stuff back in,
I can see them getting lost at our house.

We haven't completely switched over to cloth diapers, since we have a garage full of disposables,
but I plan on slowly building up our cloth diaper stash, so when we do run out of disposables
We won't have to fork out a ton of money up front, but even if we did I know we will still be saving TONS
of money after all is said and done

I usually just put a Drybee on Liam when we're just hanging out at home
I usually don't put pants on him when he wears them,
only because they are so stinking cute!
(they come in lots of colors and designs)

They are SUPER easy to wash and they dry beautifully.
They look like new even after a handful of washes! (see pic above)

The Wahmie wet bag I recieved, is the perfect size to throw in the diaper bag
for when your out and about and need a place to store your diapers till you can wash them.
The print I got even matches Liams nursery perfectly!

And when you're ready to wash your diapers,

you can just throw your wet bag into the wash as well!

St. Patricks Day

I realize I'm a bit late on posting pics from St. Patricks day,
but better late then never right?
We got home firom work to find a little leprechaun had broken into our house.
He left a note saying he had a dance party and messed up the house a bit,
but left some of his treasure as a way to make up for it.
Sophia was a little annoyed at the mess he made,
and got straight to cleaning up!
So I wasn't able to get photos of the messy kitchen.
Here are the few that I was able to snap for "evidence"

As you can see he even opened all the doors to the entertainment center,

knocked over dining room chairs,

messed up the living room

and even used the toilet and forgot to flush! gross!! :)

But Sophia was SO excited to find his gold treasures he left through out the house

She kept saying "we need to keep looking so we can struck gold!"

Then she called Aunt Cindy to see if her house had been broken into,

but it hadn't. I told her it was because aunt cindy didn't have a leprechauns favorite meal

cooking in the crock pot like we did.

I hope everyone had a nice day as well, I know next year,

we will be setting a trap so we can catch us a little green guy!

2 Months update (a little late)

So i'm a few days late posting Liam's 2 month photo.
Like I said in my last post, things with 2 kids are hectic,
and I need to work on being more organized.
I'm sure being on the computer all the time
doesn't help my organizing much either!! ha!

He went to the Doc for his check up on Thursday

3 shots and 1 oral immunization later he found out;

Weight: 13#7oz (90%)

Height: 23 1/2" (75%)

Head Circumference: 15 1/2" (25%)

He is also completely over his RSV!

We were SO lucky he didn't have to be hospitalized!

It's some pretty scary stuff!!

He is sleeping for 6 hours at a time at night! (yay!!)

Too bad he's not much of a sleeper during the day!

And since I've been back to work now for a few weeks

Grandma has been watching the kiddos.

I don't know what we'd do with out her!!

Ever since Liam was born, I've come to realize how disorganized I am!!
I need a WHOLE house organization do-over.
Our house is filled to the brim with furniture,
including our huge Entertainment center, that I would love to replace
with a smaller one. So I of course headed over to CSN Stores to look at
their great selection of LCD TV Stands! If I could get one of theirs
I would have SO much more room in my living room for other
necessities..like toys and baby items! ha! :)

So check back to see if I end up getting a new TV stand
and how the progress of my house organization comes (IF it happens!)
I would also LOVE any tips and ideas you have or what works for your family!

What happened to January and February?
Well January Liam was born so we were consumed with that.
And most of February we spent it dealing with;
Pink eye
Colds
RSV
and
Cavities :)

Sophia gets to go back to the dentist this afternoon for her second set of fillings!

Also when I took Liam to the doctor last week with RSV, he wieghed in at 12lbs12oz!!
he's definitely not having trouble with the eating thing!
It will be interesting to see how much he weighs next week at his 2 month apt!

I am praying that March brings good health and it stays for the rest of the year!

Also I accidently hit a button that swtiched the way I post on blogger and it is extremely annoying and difficult to add pictures, so if anyone know's how to swtich it back to the "old" way PLEASE let me know. So in the mean time. I may not have too many pics, that is if I even have time to do posts!

how i've been spending my last week of maternity leave...

Sunday night Sophia started getting sick
Monday we found out she had pink eye
Tuesday she has a terrible cough and fever
Wednesday, the same
Tomorrow we are going back to the doctor
my poor baby girl has been quarantined in her room
watching nearly EVERY movie we have
and even some he aunt brought
she's also been crafting
and playing Barbies

Stacks of movies

While I've been following her around sanitizing and washing everything!

Trying to convince her that the eye drops aren't that bad

Waking up a few times every night to wipe crusty eyes

Trying to keep Liam away from all the germs


trying to keep track of what time I gave her which medicine

It's going to be a long couple of days!
I hope my baby girl feels better soon so we can have some fun
before I have to go back to work!

(I'll let you know what the doc says tomorrow)

I realized the other day that my maternity leave is rapidly coming to an end :(
Just ONE week left!!
I began to think about how nice is was to be at home, and being able to have dinner ready and on the table by 6 every night. Where as when I work we usually don't eat till around 7!

SO in an effort to make things easier when I have to go back to the dreaded "grind" I have started looking for crock pot, freezer and just plain EASY recipes!

Sophia had her Valentines day party at school today

Last Tuesday...

Last Tuesday we all went to the dentist for our routine cleaning
For Sophia it was her first
She did pretty good
The flouride treatment was a bit uncomfortable for her though

And then the dentist came in and told us she has FIVE (5) cavities!!

HOLY SMOKES!!

So we get to go back again this afternoon and then 2 more times after that!

I think I'm more nervous for her than she is!

Maybe they offer a hit of laughing gas for the parents as well?

All I keep thinking about is that youtube video of that boy after his dentist apt

that his dad postesd, and it makes me sad.

1 month...really?

It just seems like yesterday we came home from the hospital!
But the bills are helping me to realize it wasn't yesterday :)
Liam is still sleeping "fairly" well....
that is once he stays asleep.
He likes to play this game where he falls asleep in our arms
and as soon as we lay him down we wakes up!!
It's very frustrating!
But to make up for all his stubborn-ness
he has starting coo-ing today.
It started when I was singing to him,
almost like he was singing along!

He always has a very serious look on his face,
Which is one of the MANY things I LOVE

My mom made this Owl for Liam's room awhile ago
I just barely got around to having Stephen hang it for me
Now his walls aren't completely bare.
Just 3 of them!

I also got this cutie in the mail this week (along with some other goodies)
from my one of my good friends,
Her mom made this adorable owl.
It's perfect!
I might have to have her make more!

I'm still looking for the perfect curtains for his room,
and other decorating ideas
so If you find any please share! :)
